I’ve been having a lot of conversations with a lot of Highly Sensitive Entrepreneurs (HSEs) lately about a particular “P” word – patience.
This “P” word is an absolute necessary skill for us HSEs to develop and yet one we can create a landmine around.
Interestingly, HSEs tend to work best, create more and experience more results in our business when we are able to do what I call, “incrementalize”. Going step-by-step keeps us out of our primary HSE Shadow of Overwhelm, for one thing.
But where we tend to trip up is when we get caught in a big ‘ol swirl of HSE Shadows like Judgement of Self and Judgement of Others (Comparison), Over-Responsibility (taking on everyone else’s stuff), Over-Care Taking (believe our worth is tied up in how much of a knot we can tie ourselves in taking care of everyone and everything else) and then you add in a dose of our HSE Strengths of Visionary gone wrong (seeing what’s possible, but not sure how to get there) and suddenly we’re a snowball careening down a mountain out of control!
Deep Breath In …
Back to the “P” word.
It doesn’t all need to happen tomorrow; it’s actually better if it doesn’t.
It doesn’t all need to get done by you; it’s actually better if it doesn’t.
And what’s right in front of you doesn’t need to be done perfectly; it’s actually better if it isn’t.
And so we pray.
We ask for guidance, support and … patience.
We ask to be reminded that the Divine knows what you need.
We ask that the rolling snowball be stopped and gently melted by a warm, summer breeze.
The more patient you can be, the more prosperous you will be as an HSE.
